It’s a Tomato…and a Pepper!

The first thing I saw today when I went to water the plants was a tomato right in the middle of the plant. It’s green, but it’s a start. hopefully there will be more than one this season too.

Also, A small pepper has appeared on the pepper plant. The green beans have so many little beans on them showing already too. Once these vegetables start growing, they just keep getting bigger and bigger so fast.

As for the herbs, the Basil is growing good as usual, the Dill is moving right along and for some reason the Cilantro is a slow grower this year. Can’t explain why, but I hope it takes off soon.

Beef, It’s what’s for dinner

I haven’t made anything in the crock pot (slow cooker) for a while so I found this recipe for Slow Cooker Beer Brisket and wanted to try it out. We went to the grocery store and got a beef brisket for tomorrow’s dinner. Actually it’s big enough for two dinners so I’ll cut it in half and use half tomorrow night and freeze the other half. That half will definitely be smoked in the smoker! I’ll let you know how the Beer Brisket comes out in case you want to try it.

Growth continues

While watering the garden this morning, I noticed the Dill is up as well as the Cilantro. Also the tomato plant is flowering already. The green beans, well they’re growing like crazy.

Won’t be long before we’re enjoying fresh herbs and vegetables!

Home Grown is How We Roll

A little late as usual, but not terribly late to start this year’s garden.

I went to the home improvement store and picked up some seeds and seedlings. This year’s garden will be sporting Tomatoes, Banana Peppers, Basil, Cilantro, Dill and Green Beans.

While prepping the soil for planting, I dug up what appeared to be Sweet Potatoes from last year’s garden that I somehow missed. So, I made room for those too.

Got everything planted just in time too, as the rain started to pour right when I got the seeds in the ground. Let’s hope that’s a good sign!

Small Business is America’s Backbone

Let’s all try to keep America “small”

Positive thinking, it can help

I know it sounds cliche, but…

Never underestimate the power of a woman!

If you think women are the weaker sex, try pulling the blankets back to your side.

Hooray for Hollywood

Hollywood is where you can find famous actors and actresses in Beverly Hills. Hollywood is where you can walk down hollywood boulevard. Hollywood has many opprotunities to do various activities. I walked down hollywood boulevard and saw names and names as far as the eye can see. Most of them I didn’t even know. The big hollywood sign is big but i never got to see that for myself. Cailfornia overall is a really nice place with great weather on the west coast. If you have the chance to visit, don’t hesitate to stop by.

Tombstone

Tombstone, Arizona is a real city where people in the present live their lives in the past. There was a lot various events such as people killing each other at randoms times, gunfights, bars shows, etc. The OK Corral gunfight was just 30 seconds of two groups fighting for turf, over betrayal, and thievery shooting each other at point blank range. Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp were fighting each other for property of turf but ended up making stupid decisions. The were 3 people killed and 3 wounded. The site of the gunfight is there still if you want to visit it someday.

The Alamo

The Alamo. A place of history and the most famous battle of the Texan revoultion. Santa Anna’s army fought with 1,200+ soldiers while the texans fought with barely 300+. My trip to the Alamo was amazing. There were still all those artifacts from when the revolution took place. Cannons, swords, cannon balls, names of who fought in the battle of the Alamo. If you ever get the chance to visit, you won’t regret learning your history lesson of the day.
